Apothic Dark is a tasty, red wine. It doesn't have any mythology drawings on the label or anything gothic or vampires other than the name, but it gives me a toned-down vampire feel.

I'm new to the genre and the game series (yes, people like me exist :D ) and I don't want to be a party pooper... but if this was a movie or a book, I'd say 10 minutes in: "I've seen so many plot and logical errors and things that just could have been done way better, that I'll stop watching/reading that..." - Is it just me? Please help me understand the fascination of this game. And I'm not talking about "vampires are unrealistic", they ARE realistic in a vampire story. Many things are realistic in a fictional story. And yes, graphics, engine and atmosphere are great, but: * Why are dead bodies locked up, but prisoners are locked up in cells with huuuge holes? * Why are notes just scribbles until you examine them? Scanning a real hand-written note would have cost 5 minutes more... * Why do they have multiple of the same torturing device if they only have a real few living victims? * Why do things make sound even when you are not touching them? * Why don't the lockpicks work on the locks of the chains (which need a bolt cutter) and the bolt cutter doesn't work on bolts (which need a key)? * Why would someone digging an escape tunnel light it up with candles and leave them burning? * Why are the notes of people in all the wrong places? How could the guy trying to escape, get paper and a pen in the first cell? How could he have known so much about the future? Why are the maid's notes in a place where she certainly wouldn't have left them? * Why are there secret rooms that only open from the INSIDE instead of the OUTSIDE? So... built only for people to escape, not for the owners of the mansion to use them? Maybe everything turns out to be part of the plot and the vampire ladies set up the whole house just to fool me... but if they didn't, things are hard to explain, I think. I really hope someone can enlighten me and lead me into this new (for me) world. I really like to find new genres to enjoy.
